They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

My BFF

So last weekend, Zack (my hubby) had mentioned to me that may be interested in running.  One thing you have to understand, if someone tells me they have an interest in running, I don't let them forget it.  So this morning I planted the idea in his head... so he could think about it all day.  Then around 5:30 PM I nonchalantly put out his running clothes in our bedroom and told him that his clothes were waiting for him.  I was so excited... which I'm sure he realized when he came downstairs and tri-pod was set up to document the occasion.

During our run, I was so impressed; he could hold a conversation and was ahead of me for most of the run.  Granted, as you can see form the picture he's quite tall, and yes his legs are long too, so his stride is about 2-3 times longer then mine.  It was so nice to have him out there running with me.  He mentioned that he may be interested in doing a 10k!  Who is this person, almost 6 years ago I distinctly remember a certain someone signing up for the half marathon with me and a certain someone deciding half way through a run that he just didn't want to run anymore!  Which I was fine with, however I never would've thought that this "certain someone" would be pondering the thought of doing a 10k!  I'm not complaining, just shocked is all.  I will hold him to it; if it takes me putting out his running clothes, having Wenzyl deliver "Please run with me notes", or giving ultimatums for food, I will do it!

I broke in my new shoes today!  They finally came in the mail!  I was SO excited!  It’s amazing to me how a simple thing such as a pair of shoes or a new Buff, can motivate you to get out the door running.  I will NEVER forget when Carey got her new running gloves.  They were winter gloves and she wore them in the summer!  I still giggle at the thought of that!  I’m looking forward to a longer run tomorrow.  I’ll take 48 degree weather any day! Happy Running!
